Bad teeth and no money to fix them

Hello. I just ran across this website and feel so bad for all the posters. I went through the same experiences described here a few years ago and thought a few words from someone who made it through this would help. First, here's a trick to lessen the pain in the absence of prescription pain medication only available through the doctors we can't afford: (This is a method told to me by a dentist) Extra Strength Tylenol 500 mg containing Acetaminophen (or the Wal-Mart equivalent) does not negatively interact with Motrin 200 mg containing Ibuprofen (or the Wal-mart equivalent). It is OK to take {2} 500 mg Acetaminophen every four hours. Likewise, you can take up to {4} 200 mg Ibuprofen (This is above the indicated dosage but it is the equivalent of {1} 800 mg Ibuprofen that they give at doctor's offices. I've also found the gel-caps to be way more effective than the regular pills). What you do is take the maximum Acetaminophen dosage. Then, take the maximum Ibuprofen dosage two hours later. Then, repeat the process two hours later. This way, you can stagger the medications so that you're getting some relief on a fairly constant basis. But be mindful that nsaid's can harm the lining of the stomach so this should be a last resort until you can get further help. Obviously, it's not that bad because I did it for almost four years while getting my teeth pulled. Next, as mentioned before, local dental schools will do the work for the cost of supplies if you sign a waiver. I never had any complications other than a couple of dry sockets which could have just as easily happened at a paid dentist's office. Also, for any of you who are in the South, I used Whatley Health Services in Tuscaloosa, AL. They do extractions for $20 per tooth. There's a long wait for appointments, but they do walk-in emergency extractions for $50. They even did my dentures for $300. I hope this helps. I will pray for you all. Good luck and God Bless!
